"It’s funny the reactions I get when I tell people I’m on a 40-day road trip with my husband. The overwhelming response is a wide-eyed and skeptical version of, 'And how is that going?'
Truthfully? It’s going great! Sure, we have our disagreements on how often I tailgate, where to stop for lunch, and who’s going to watch the pup while the other goes to the bathroom — but all of that is minor. Being in such tight quarters (a compact Rav4 that’s filled to the brim), you quickly learn how to squash whatever is bugging you and simply move on. That being said, there are ways to prepare yourself for some of the potential issues you may experience when traveling with your S.O. These tips may seem simple, but I promise they’ll make a world of difference when you both start getting cranky — and you’re miles from home."

The horror!
We both had to learn to compromise, stopping at a healthier restaurant from time to time, and ordering the occasional Egg McMuffin when we were in a time crunch (and now I’m the one with the constant McMuffin craving). Speaking of which..."
Snacks Are Key
"We quickly learned that both of us get hangry, and it is NOT fun for the other. There have been so many times where our schedule hasn’t gone according to plan, and that restaurant we were planning on going to, or that snack spot we were anticipating, doesn’t work out — and we’re left feeling hungry, defeated, and irritable. Having healthy, filling, and tasty snacks on hand has saved us from countless arguments. Pop by your local Trader Joe's before you leave and stock up on trail mix packs, granola bars, and maybe even a bag or two of gummy bears. You’ll thank me later."
